About
So Why Should I Live On Campus?
U niversity housing is an important part of the overall experience of a college student. On- campus housing gives students the opportunity to meet new people; share social interactions in residence hall suites, share time in the "Caf", and experiencing first hand what it means to be an invested part of the campus community. On campus housing gives students individual privacy (with private bedrooms for all residents) while at the same time balancing social interaction that is unique to the college.
A n array of exciting benefits await students who choose to live on campus at UAH. University Housing is staffed by a Central Staff team that takes care of the day to day operation of facilities, conferences, and records. Students get first hand personal attention within the facilities from professional live-in Resident Directors and student peer Resident Assistants who are specially trained to meet the needs of all students.
Research at UAH and other universities shows that students who live in residence halls are: more likely to have higher GPA's than students who do not live on campus, more likely to get involved with student organizations, develop better social networks and most importantly say they are more satisfied with the university experience as a whole. Even with all of the benefits mentioned above we haven't even touched upon some of the other benefits such as convenience to dining facilities, conveniently close parking spaces, close proximity to classes and the library to name just a few!
H aving stated the above advantages, we hope that you will consider living on campus for a taste of the true college experience. For more information please contact the housing office by phone at 256-824-6108.
